Giving ….. (includes tutorial)

My FIRST gift to you - Christmas Gift – No 1

Are you giving cash or a gift card this Christmas ?  If so, then why not give it “Stampin Up” style ?  Below is a holder that I made, that you can make for giving either cash or a gift card.  I’m sure all the recipients will be delighted with it !

money holder gift card

Instructions :-

Cut your crumb cake cardstock into a 3 1/2” x 8 1/4” strip.

Lay the long side on your score board, and score on the left hand side at 2 1/2”, flip your cardstock around, and score on the left hand side again at 2 3/4”.

You now need 3 pieces of patterned paper for matting.

For the 2 1/2” bottom piece, you need a piece of patterned paper measuring 3 1/4” x 2 1/4”.  For the top piece (with the reindeer) you need a piece of patterned paper measuring 3 1/4” x 2 1/2”.  For the back of the wallet you need a piece of patterned paper measuring 3 1/4” x 2 3/4”.

I then inked all the mats with a sponge dauber and chocolate chip inkpad.

Mat the patterned paper onto the bottom layer of the holder, and the top layer.  The bottom layer will fold up to become the section that holds the money or card.  You therefore need to punch a semi circle out of the top flap with a 1” circle punch to make it easier for the recipient to get out the card or money.  You can now put strong red double sided tape down the left hand side and right hand side of this section, and adhere to the middle section.  The top flap then folds over.

For the back, you will need to adhere 12” strip of ribbon (to tie around the front), and then adhere the patterned paper OVER the ribbon.

Flip back over to the front.   Using the decorative label punch and crumb cake c/s punch out the shape.  Ink the edges and stamp the sentiment using.Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  Add to the wallet using dimensionals, but make sure the ribbon can move underneath.

Reindeer

Die cut a snowflake using the new Stampin Up! bigz snowflake and chocolate chip cardstock. You will only need the larger snowflake.  Cut out two 'antlers’ from the snowflake.   Now punch out the body of the reindeer using the owl punch. (you might need to trim off the owls feet).  Adhere the antlers to the back of the body.  Punch out a 1/2” circle using real red cardstock, and add to the reindeer.  I then used two googly eyes from the autumn/winter catalogue,  which I added to the top of rudolphs nose, and then using a white journalling pen, added some extra detail.

Voila !
